They came, they saw, and they conquered! From 1-2 December 2018, UEM Sunrise in partnership with Spartan Malaysia hosted the inaugural Spartan Asia Pacific Championship 2018, the most renowned and toughest obstacle race in the world.
The race was held in SIREH Park, Iskandar Puteri, featuring these categories:
Day 1 - The Ultra Beast (50km and more than 60 obstacles), Age Group Beast Championship Heat, Regular Beast, and Spartan Kids.
Day 2 – Elite, Age Group and Open Sprint (5km and more than 20 obstacles).
The race also showcased SIREH Park’s features as the largest public park in Malaysia, with 343-acres of land encouraging aesthetic appreciation of planted areas, outdoor activities such as jogging, trekking, mountain biking, boating, kayaking, canoeing and more at Iskandar Puteri.
UEM Sunrise’s Mr. Jeff Saw Seong Kit, Director – Southern 1 and En. Zamri Yusof, Director – Southern 2 flagged off the event, accompanied by Mr. Devamanokaran Poonagasu, General Manager – Retail and Assets Management. The successful “Spartans” received their finisher medals after a gruelling journey where they were pushed to their limits by the unforgiving SIREH Park’s steep hill climbs, forest trails, water hazards, treacherous crossings and more.
