KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd has appointed Sufian Abdullah as its new chief executive officer (CEO) effective February 2, 2021.
The post was vacant after Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib tendered his resignation as managing director and CEO on October 9 last year.
Chairman Datuk Noorazman Abd Aziz said Sufian's appointment came at an exciting time for the property developer as it embarked on a bold vision and an ambitious agenda even as the country faces uncertain economic conditions amid unique challenges.
"Sufian brings with him a wealth of experience to this important role. His background as an architect, and competencies and passion in the property development sector are a tremendous asset to our company and the board looks forward to working closely with Sufian as he takes leadership of UEM Sunrise," Noorazman said in a statement today.
With the support of a complementary, multi-talented management team, he said UEM Sunrise is confident that Sufian will lead the course for a strong and sustainable growth trajectory for the company.
This includes bringing value-add services and product excellence for all our customers.
Sufian, 46, brings with him over 20 years of experience in the property development and real estate industry.
A trained architect with a hands-on track record in urban design and high-performance built environments, as well as extensive corporate exposure, he has held key positions in Sime Darby Property and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP).
He is currently KWEST Sdn Bhd CEO, the property arm of KWAP.
