UEM Sunrise Berhad (“UEM Sunrise” or the “Company”), continued with its tradition of providing back to communities by establishing another BukuHub, this time at its joint-venture township in Forest Heights, Seremban.
Located in the Sunrise MCL Land Sdn Bhd Community Center which also doubles as the Forest Heights sales gallery, the 12th BukuHub in Malaysia is housing around 400 books that the public has donated.

BukuHub seeks to enrich the lifestyles of all ages while cultivating the habit of reading and ensuring the books are widely accessible to the local community. In addition, the book-filled community centre also intends to inspire integrity among its readers as there are no check-in and check-out counters.
Setting up a BukuHub in the Forest Heights township is also part of its efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle in communities within Forest Heights. By discovering new perspectives, readers can gain empathy and knowledge, reduce stress levels and reduce the risk of cognitive deterioration.
“We are thrilled to open our next BukuHub in Forest Heights. Aligning with one of our CHIEF values, “Fun-loving”, we aspire to create more spaces for activities, especially to cultivate the habit of reading. I believe having a mini library of a different sort here will also help bring the community together with the shared hobby, further fostering the spirit of a more inclusive community,” said UEM Sunrise Chief Operations Officer (Central) Liong Kok Kit.
The fun-filled event was officiated and attended by the Chairman of the Action Committee for Investment, Industry, Entrepreneurship, Education and Human Capital of Negeri Sembilan YB Dato’ Dr Mohamad Rafie bin Ab Malek, Liong, who also serves in the Development Committee Sunrise MCL Land Sdn Bhd, along with school teachers and children as well.
BukuHub, a community project and UEM Sunrise’s first CSR flagship programme, aims to enhance the living environment of the community while cultivating the habit of reading. It embraces the Company’s two-pronged Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy - Education Enhancement and Community Engagements. Its Education Enhancement programme is based on the firm belief that education is a fundamental human right and must be extended to every child regardless of gender, race, religion or economic status.
UEM Sunrise has achieved several milestones in its CSR initiatives. In collaboration with strategic partners, several developments have come together as a holistic ecosystem supporting various communities’ growth.
Forest Heights is a boutique township with a GDV of RM1.9 billion covering 488 acres of freehold land in Seremban, part of the Malaysia Vision Valley.
The 488-acre township is the brainchild of Sunrise MCL Land Sdn Bhd, a 50:50 joint venture development between UEM Sunrise, then called Sunrise Berhad and MCL Land Limited (A member of Hong Kong Land) since 2004. The entire township is currently at 54% completion and is expected to be completed fully in 2028.
Forest Heights' Community Center BukuHub is open to the public from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
