UEM Sunrise and Grab Malaysia (“Grab”) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 2 October 2018 at Publika Shopping Gallery, Solaris Dutamas. As the first property developer to sign an MOU with Grab, UEM Sunrise aims to drive the cashless payment culture in and around Publika, Mont’Kiara and Iskandar Puteri, Johor via the GrabPay mobile wallet payment solution.
Through this strategic partnership, UEM Sunrise together with Grab will extend GrabPay’s cashless in-store options for payment of transportation services, dining, shopping and more, benefiting the business objectives of retailers and customers in and around Publika and Iskandar Puteri. In addition to establishing both locations as a cashless payment environment, Grab will also be providing a designated waiting area for passengers as they wait for their rides.
As part of the terms of the strategic partnership, UEM Sunrise will assist Grab in ensuring that a significant number of Publika’s tenants will adopt GrabPay as one of their preferred cashless payment methods. Some of Publika’s merchants who are now on the Grab platform – either as GrabFood or GrabPay merchants – include Plan B, Red’s Revenge, Baskin Robbins and TeaLive.
The signing ceremony was carried out by En. Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, UEM Sunrise’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer; and co-signed by Ms. Ooi Huey Tyng, Head of GrabPay Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines and Grab Malaysia’s Country Head, Mr. Sean Goh.
