PETALING JAYA (Oct 5): UEM Sunrise Bhd has bagged home the “Highly Commended” Award under the Large Organisation category at the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) Malaysia 2020/21. This is the first time UEM Sunrise is awarded this laurel since the awards’ inception in 2012.

UEM Sunrise chief executive officer Sufian Abdullah noted that the award reaffirms the company’s position in its sustainability journey, alongside its recent win at the ASEAN Corporate Governance Award 2020 that further strengthened its stance in sustainable development.

“We will make continuous strides in ESG efforts which are holistic, measured and tracked, and robust sustainable practices will soon be more evident in our products which are rooted in non-superfluous designs and modern methods of construction.”

Moving forward, the developer has extensive plans to enhance its offerings of sustainable products in terms of spatial flexibility and cost-efficiency as well as its processes as part of its efforts to deliver a sustainable value chain for its stakeholders and customers. It will continue building momentum towards its mission of achieving a better and sustainable tomorrow.

The SBA acts as a platform advocating towards a sustainable future, recognising and honouring companies that display consistent efforts in multiple areas of sustainability through a comprehensive assessment process developed by an international team with over 15 years of experience in business-related benchmarking and metrics.
