Known for its hard-to-miss green-and-white carnival style awning (Instagrammers, take note), The Den Yulek is a cosy little eatery nesting on the streets of Cheras waiting to tickle your tastebuds. Best known for their unique youtiao mochi – a long deep-fried, golden-brown strip of dough (sometimes nicknamed as cakoi by the locals) layered with glutinous rice cake and other toppings such as red bean gula melaka and black sesame. They also serve local delicacies like nasi lemak and other Western selections too.

We’ve got good news for all feline enthusiasts – we’ve found a cat paradise, and it’s in the heart of Cheras. This coffee-centric cat café serves many types of croffles, a cross-marriage between a croissant and a waffle iron – ranging from sweet flavours like ‘Milo and Cream Crackers’ and ‘D24 Durian Croffle’ to savoury ones like ‘Kimchi Scrambled Eggs’.
