Ra-Ft Cafe
Arcoris Plaza is home to the famous Ra-Ft Cafe. They offer hearty breakfast options, covering the signature all-in-one Ra-Ft Breakfast and My Breakfast. The latter allows you to customise your choice of bread, egg doneness, protein and two sides. On top of that, their menu also consists of a variety of comfort-food including pasta, burgers, chicken and sandwiches among others. The Italian-style café also roasts their own coffee but if you can’t handle caffeine, there’s their Beetroot Latte worth trying here.

Jaslyn Cakes
No Mont'Kiara café hunt would be complete without including Jaslyn Cakes in the list. Their name certainly needs no introduction, given their already-famous presence in Bangsar. When you approach their front counter, you’ll be greeted with an assortment of homemade cakes and baked goods screaming for attention. For recommendations, you can’t go wrong with their bestselling Carrot Cake or others like Chocolate Peanut Butter and Victoria Sponge. The latter is a butter cake layered with fresh cream and blueberry filling.

VCR has been a household name in coffee and pastries for years now, so it's little wonder that one of its latest outlets, VCR Bakehouse, in Mont'Kiara is popular for breakfast, brunch, and post-bike ride caffeine boosts. Another comfortable brunch spot in Mont'Kiara is Kopenhagen Coffee, owned by Peter Sehested, all the way from Copenhagen. The café décor is inspired by his Scandinavian heritage and a minimalist style, providing customers with a Hygge (which means cosiness in Danish) vibe amidst the busy city. Kanbe Ramen
Kanbe Ramen is a favourite for its signature ramen, which comes in a choice of thin ramen and thick noodles Tsukemen. What's great about it is that it allows you to customise your ramen. There are seven types of soup bases, which may take some time to familiarise with, as well as a range of condiments to accompany the satisfying bowls of noodles. Besides the ramen, we'd suggest a side order of the Brussel Sprouts Cheese Katsu too.

Jibril Publika
Having first opened in Subang Jaya, Jibril has gained popularity with their signature butter milk chicken and decided that they should spread their wings and share the love with their new outlet in Publika. Jibril is famous for its salted egg butter chicken, serving chicken chunks coated with salted egg yolk with a side of creamy butter sauce with some chili padi for some extra spice. If you are used to other butter chicken dishes, it is usually a little sweet, but Jibril makes them savoury and salty, perfect with hot rice. To finish the meal, try their sweet and luscious chocolate lava cake.

Chica Bonita
KL's new Mexican restaurant has opened in time for the Day of the Dead holiday on November 2nd, with Coco playing on TV and sugar skulls and colourful La Catrina pictures on the walls. Tacos and burritos are plentiful. Individual tacos in crispy or soft corn tortillas can be ordered to enjoy a more extensive range of flavours. Pulled Beef Barbacoa with eight-hour slow-cooked beef, onions, coriander, and lettuce are two meat-and-flavour-packed highlights of smooth smoked duck with zesty mojo sauce, pineapple salsa and cabbage.

For a fail-proof Korean barbecue experience, head to Sae Ma Eul, a hugely popular Korean barbecue chain that understands its meats and grill. Try your hand at the rice balls too, which you get to roll them yourself. Do yourself a favour and wash down this hearty meal with a cold glass of soju.
